IATSE stage hand Daniel Berk, 32 is currently in critical condition after a fatal crash on the Oakland side of the Bay Bridge toll plaza that resulted in the death of a 46 year old toll booth operator named Si Si Han. Berk was ejected from the rented box truck cab he was driving at a high rate of speed towards the busy toll booth plaza at 5:00 am Saturday December 2nd 2017.
Berk was at the wheel of a rented truck full of stage lighting cases branded to 4Wall, a national provider of stage and theatrical services, that crashed into the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge Toll Plaza killing a 46 year old toll taker. In the video on his Facebook page, Berk says “People gotta remember” his name “Good Or Bad, I don’t really care, it is all free publicity”
While being treated for serious injuries sustained in the crash, Berk was charged with DUI and vehicular manslaughter. Daniel Berk on Facebook claims membership in the local IATSE stage hands union and has many posts dedicated to alcohol and marijuana usage in addition to enthusiasm for smoke machines and stage gear. as well as local hip-hop music and recent Puerto Rican Hurricane Relief efforts.
