California Home Sales Hit 10-Year Low in Early 2019. The statewide median home price in California declined to $538,690 in January. The January statewide median price was down 3.4 percent from $557,600 in December, which is nearly a $19,000 decline in price month-to-month. Home prices in California however ate still up 2.1 percent from a revised $527,780 back in January 2018. Home-ownership in California is starting to tick back higher as investors now make up a smaller percentage of the pool of buyers. China is seeing a big economic slowdown causing the countries investors to begin to back-off of California home purchases. We also look at some insanely expensive property in San Francisco.
